Hello everyone, and welcome to Halo Spotlight. We’re pleased to introduce you to the first ever Cosplayer Feature piece. These pieces are similar to Cosplayer Q&As, but more bite sized.
In this article we spoke to Lozza Coolman, a Cosplayer that has created cosplays for some of the most iconic video games. Of course, it wouldn’t be an article on Halo Spotlight without the focus being on Halo, so without further ado, lets get into questions.

Question: So we can all get to know you better, could you give us some background on who you are and what got you into Halo Cosplay?
My Name is Lauren or Lozza Coolman. I have been cosplaying for 8 years! My first Halo game was Halo reach, I used to love coming home after school and playing firefight with some of my mates!
I had always loved the design of the armor in game and even looked at making my own set out of cardboard. School got busier, time got away from me and it just never happened.
7 years ago I met my boyfriend at PAX AUS wearing a Shipmaster cosplay (HOT I know). That was my sign! It was time to build my dream cosplay!
After months of printing and sanding I had my first one. Safe to say the funds have gone downhill from there! It’s so addictive printing and making these incredible suits and wearing them!

Question: What are some of your Do’s and don’ts for creating cosplay? What are your recommendations for people looking to get into it?
Do’s: get yourself a buddy! Having someone there to help you with your suit is always a bonus! If they cosplay in Halo as well, at least you have someone to trot along with in your clunky armor!
Get in touch with your local 405th group. Great people that will create great lifelong friendships! PPE. Always wear protective gear when painting or sanding your suit. This goes for EVA foam and 3d prints!
Don’ts: don’t sweat the accuracy. Make it as fun or as accurate as you want! I like to throw a little bit of my personality in each suit! It makes you unique! Go without food or water on long con days. (That’s very naughty!)

A massive thank you to Lozza for taking the time to speak with the team. It was great to learn about their journey as a Halo cosplayer. We have one last closing statement that we’d like to share from Lozza:
Halo has always and will always hold a good chunk of my heart! If you are yet to make your own Halo cosplay and are waiting for a sign. THIS IS IT! DO IT!
That concludes this feature piece. Once again thank you to Lozza for taking the time to speak with us, for sharing the cosplay photos, and for wanting to take part. Be sure to head over to Lozza’s Instagram and show your appreciation for their amazing cosplays.
